Hi, My name is Liz Bagley & I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001.  During my battle, I spent time sitting by the window noticing all of God's little creatures...the birds, squirrels & rabbits.  They brought peace to my troubled heart.  I noticed 2 dogs across the street (I've moved since then) that were left for days without food or water.  I would sneak over & take care of them.  This cruelty brought sadness & much anger as I became aware of this reality for some animals.
So, I made God a promise one day, "God when you get me through this illness.....not if you do, but when you do, I will make a difference in this world".  And ever since, I've vowed to do everything in my power to prevent other defenseless animals from suffering the same fate.  Since my promise, I have helped many animals in need of a loving home.
In 2007, I was blessed to start my own nonprofit rescue.  I struggled to find the appropriate name for the organization.  One day God spoke to my heart & said, "Why wouldn't you choose a name to remind you of the promise that you made me to make a difference in the world?" Right away the name "Making A Difference Rescue" came to me.  The name of this rescue has a meaning to my heart & reminds me often of my purpose in life.  This is the reason that I am so passionate about saving an animal & changing their life forever.  Life is precious & ALL life deserves respect.
My family is very understanding & patient while I dedicate a lot of time for this purpose.  I am married to a wonderful man, Tony that has always shown me the support that I have needed, TOGETHER we are "Making A Difference".

My name is Connie Frieders. I've been an animal lover all my life. Something I believe I inherited from my Grandfather. My Mom can tell you stories of when my brother and I would bring home strays, hide them, wanting to care for them and keep them. I love nature and all life in it.   Some time ago, I found myself wanting another dog again, a few years after our first one died (a Great Dane named Luke). But I wanted to wait until our son was 3, old enough to learn and understand how to treat a furry family member. While surfing the internet, I came across
www.petfinder.com and was shocked to see how many pets were there in need of homes. Countless. This is how we came into our first 2 dogs. Pet adoption. I was so drawn in, wanting to learn more. Things that were greatly upsetting like puppy mills (dogs being mass produced for monetary gain) and the conditions they are kept in, dog auctions (I never heard of such a thing), countless numbers of animals being put down for no good reason other than they have no where to go, realizing the importance of spays and neuters of cats and dogs to help the over population problem, etc. I have been involved with rescue in one way or another for the past 5 years. Mostly fostering. That, I found, has been my niche with being home with young children, and educational for them as well on compassion and responsibility for their care. That is, until I met Liz.
My family consists of a wonderfully supportive and tolerant husband (thank goodness for me or I'd be out in the dog house!), 2 children whom I adore, 3 of our own dogs and usually 1 or 2 foster dogs, along with other pets as well. It's a houseful!!
